Which 8GB module are low-density?

Hi,

I have a laptop Lenovo ThinkPad T410 and I want to upgrade RAM to 8GB.

I bought a 16GB kit but it didn't work. After searching solution in internet I finally found that my CPU is only compatibel with low-density RANMs.

Which 8GB module is low-density?

Where can I find information about density of a RAM?

Thanks.

Does my RAM memory defective and able for RMA?

Hello, I just want some opinion about my case and I want to know more about the RMA process.

I bought a 16GB Crucial kit (2x08GB) 2133 CL 15. I installed them on 12/05/2017 and everything went just fine until 22/05/2017. I was playing a game and got a BSOD, after that I tried to reboot like 3 times and always got another BSOD during the boot process. Around the fourth try the system won't even POST. I open the case and check the mobo's "ez LED debug" (my config is on the end of the post) and it indicates RAM failure so I did the following steps:

- I removed all RAM sticks.

- I picked each stick individually and tested it on each slot.

- One of the sticks worked flawlessly on all slots. The other one won't POST on any slot.

I assumed the stick to be defective and called a RMA from the reseller here in Brazil (wich took almost 30 days... ). The reseller than did some tests with the MemTest86 application and for my surprise the replie was: "Product without any defect". Well I couldn't but wait for them to arrive back at my home.

When they did, I put them on my machine and they realy worked?! But just for a day, today I got some more BSOD while just web surfing and the bad stick stopped working again. Here are the BOSD I got before the stick stopped working:

According to the bug check code description provided from microsoft these crashes seems to be pretty RAM related. At this moment:

- With the good stick only I still get a POST and everything works normally.

- With the bad stick only I can't get to the BIOS, the system won't POST.

- With both sticks installed i get a POST and when I go to the BIOS the motherboard shows both sticks and their respective characteristics but only 8GB of "usable" memory is reported. The app MemTest86 also only report 8gb of available memory and also does Windows on task manager: (16GB / 8 GB usable). I can't understand how mobo identify both sticks and only one is "counted" to memory size.

The same happens if I change the stick slots (wich is not that difficult since my mobo has only 2 slots).

Now my system specs (because if there is some know problem in this config someone can tell me beforehand):

MOBO: MSI B350M Gaming Pro

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 stock cooler

PSU: EVGA B500 b1 bronze 80 plus

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 rpm

Video Card: Asus Dual OC gtx 1060 6GB

RAM: as described above

If the chances of this being faulty RAM and my RMA being approved are high I would like to try it even it's international shipping. And if so I would like some information in how to do it (I need do send both sticks since it's a kit, or just the faulty one?). I got really unlucky :/. If it's not RAM related what else can it be and what tests can I do? Unfortunately I have no extra compatible hardware (mobos, cpu, etc) for tests nor does my friends.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Donavan

CT102464BF160B same as CT5489241?

I have a Dell Vostro 5470 with 4GB ram. I used the Crucial scanner and the CT5489241 was the compatible choice.

I do have another Crucial  product CT102464BF160B and I was wondering if I could use that instead of the  CT5489241, I compared the specs and they appear to be identical. Will the CT102464BF160B work?

6GB to 12GB upgrade - ASUS P6T Deluxe with i7-920

My system is an (overclocked) ASUS P6T Deluxe with an Intel i7-920 processor. I have been running the following BIOS settings with 6GB (6x1GB) of Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 memory (2 TR3X3G1600C8D 3x1GB kits) with no problems. However, I want to upgrade to 12GB of Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR3-1600 (3x4GB BLT3KIT4G3D1608DT2TXOB Kit). I assume the only necessary BIOS changes will be reducing DRAM voltage to 1.50 and (possibly) changing the DRAM Timing Mode to 1N.

Can anyone confirm this assumption or let me know if I should make any other changes?

Thanks!

Verify whether memory is genuine Crucial

I recently purchased on eBay 2X4GB 1066MHz DDR3 RAM sticks for my Acer 5740G laptop. They had Crucial stickers:

Part #: CT51264BF160BJ.C8FED

Batch #: FH1143K.89

Material #: 232408

Date code: 201626

However, SPD shows different data:

Manufacturer: Samsung

Part #: M471B5273CH0-CH9

Serial #: 4445326D (same for both sticks)

Is this genuine Crucial RAM or Samsung or what?

Couple of Memtest86 issues I would like some help with

Hi, my first post here, also my first time running Memtest86 too.

Firstly the RAM is Corsair DDR4 in 4 X 8GB sticks 2666MHz

The reason for testing is regular - but differing BSODs playing games.

The BIOS auto set the memory in XMP as 2666MHz but Memtest say it thinks it is 2800MHz, not a big jump but if it can clock it faster then results might be affected, hence the question, can it change the RAM speed?

Having run three passes taking 5.5 hours each time, the results are consistent with the memory passing the test, but with between 700 - 800 errors on test 10.  It seems that the majority of problems occur during the bit fade test, and I know that if I increase the refresh rate I could probably reduce these errors.  My feeling is though that I shouldn't have to do this with the consequent loss of performance associated.

The question is whether this level of errors would be likely to cause the BSODs and is this grounds to RMA the RAM for replacement?

RAM upgrade for Lenovo G50-45 Help

Hello,

I was trying to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB. I have a Lenovo 50-45. Upon researching I found I should use a:

DDR3L-1800 SODIMM 1.35V CL11.

So I bought that from Crucial. When I went to install it I found the existing RAM in my laptop was:

Samsung 4 GB 1RX8 PC3L 12800S

Did I buy the right RAM? My computer is working ok since I put in the new 8GB bt since they are different (DDR3L vs 1RX8) I'm concerned.

Also, when I replaced the old RAM with the new one, upon starting my laptop up I got the notice "Adapter has limited support". I wonder if this is a voltage issue perhaps related to the new RAM?

Any help is appreciated. I was unable to utilize the tool Crucial offers to scan computer hence this forum question.

Thank you in advance.

Upgraded from 4GB to a compatible 16 gb and now have 16gb memory which the system recognizes.  System, however seems slower.  OS and programs load slower, occasional lag when entering text, game freezing are my symptoms.

Windows and drivers are up to date and I have performed Hard Drive maintence plus temp file deletions.

I am a tech novice, but would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Problem with ecc memory

Hello to everbody. I have got server motherboard supermicro x10slm-f  and  two ct51272bd160b.18fkd (4gb). Tomorrow i buy one ct102472bd160b.18fp (8gb).  But system doesn't  work. What i can do ???

Looking to upgrade my memory.

So i just got home i ran the scan, found:

Crucial 8GB DDR3-1866 UDIMM CT5008696
DDR3 PC3-14900 • CL=13 • Unbuffered
• NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64

I also opened up my Tower took a peak at what i have currently installed (came with the PC) and this is what i found:

AD3U1600W8G11-B
DDR3 1600(11)8GX16 U-DIMM
10243155

Now im all messed up lol, First the one that the site has as compatible , the last numbers stick out at me "1024Meg x 64"

The one i currently have installed "8GX16" , admittedly i am not sure if this is an issue or not as im still learning all this.

Then i think back to my first post where i listed the Memory Specifications: DDR3 1066/1333/1600(OC) SDRAM (16GB MAX) 2 DDR3 DIMMS (240) 1.5 Support Dual Channel Mode.

So i took the above to mean 1066(low) 1333(high) 1600 (Over Clock), i was going with the 1333 since im not to familiar with OC, come to find out i already have a 1600 installed..

Just when i thought i had an understanding of this i feel lost again lol.

My Mobo: MSI (Micro Star) 760GMA-P34 (FX)

I have Lenovo B590 20206 laptop which is capable of using 16GB RAM. Chipset Intel HM70.

Recently bought and installed 2 sticks 8GB each. Advisor tool says:

Your Lenovo  Lenovo B590
system specs as shipped
memory
Maximum Memory:8GB
Slots:2 (2 banks of 1)
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

8GB 8GB

Chipset
Chipset: Intel HM77

There is a huge difference between HM70 and HM77. The former supports only Celeron and Pentium. In case of Core i* installed, computer will shut down in 30 minutes.

The laptop is slow; slow to boot, slow to run, slow to do anything.  It is basically a clean W10/64 machine with little on it.  I replaced the original 1TB drive with a 2TB Hybrid drive and saw no improvement.  Speccy shows 8GB DDR3, 798MHz, Single Channel memory.  Is there any hope that replacing the Dell memory with a Crucial 8GB, DDR3L, 1600 module would improve performance?  More details follow:

I'm looking into upgrading my ram, I used to scanner and it couldn't find anything. I also looked through the list of models and my model isn't on there. Not even the Toshiba website seems to have any information on it. Does anyone know anything about this computer and whether or not a ram upgrade is possible? I can give more information if needed.

I just bought two new 16gb sticks of crucial memory, but they only have a sticker each on one side. Does that mean it is not genuine and that I should return it?

The memory sticks have the exact same numbers as the picture below except for the numbers on the right corner where there is 1625 MT BG112... It also says "Product of China" instead of "Assembled in US"

Can someone please help me verify if the memory I bought is genuine Crucial memory?

I replaced the entire fleet of 2gb memory sticks in a Dell Poweredge R715 with: Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 ECC RDIMM (Part#CT5321400).

I have two processors, so following the manual, I believed the correct slots for the two sticks to be A1 and B1.

When starting/rebooting the server I am prompted with the listed memory config. not optimal message. When I look at the hardware configuration it is show the ram as being 1333.

What're the next steps in resolving this message and creating an optimal config?

Hi.
I have an Hp Omen 870-250 no that i want to ad more ram to.
According to Cpu-Z, the installed ram is an Micron made 8gb stick with the product number MTA8ATF1G64AZ-2G3B1.
The MB on this HP is named Odense2-K. Its an H170 type and the bios in it dosent have any possibility to change memory settings like timing or xmp, in fact you cant change anything in it Smiley Sad
I am having a hard time finding a matching stick here in Sweden.
I see that Crucial is a part of the Micron brand, so my question is, does Crucial have any HP approved memory that would work in my system?
I have my eyes on the Crucial ballistix sport LT, is it a good match for my system?
I am looking for a single 8gb stick or a matching pair of 8gbx2.

Thanks for any help.
Best Regards
S
