Hi,
I have a 8GB DDR3 RAM with # CT102464BA, would like to purchase another 8GB same ram as well.
However all i can see online are with #CT102464BD. is it competitable and can work as a pair with the CT102464BA? What is the differences?

In the hopes of upgrading my PC I bought two Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz DIMM) sticks. According to the Crucial.com scanner, they should be 100% compatible with my motherboard, however upon installing them in place of my old RAM sticks my computer would fail to boot, not even reaching BIOS. I tried reseating them multiple times and placing them in different slots but nothing made a difference. If I put my old RAM sticks back in my computer can boot again. I've tried all the stick one by one, changed the speed in the BIOS to 800, voltage to 1.5 then 1.59V, but no luck. Is there anything I can do apart from returning the stick?
My motherboard is a GIGABYTE AMD770 DDR3 AM3 SATA PCI-E (MB-GA-MA770T-UD3P).
Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I am looking to purchase one stick of CT16G4SFD8266 and another one a few months down the road.
I have a dell G7 (7588) Laptop I intend to install this in.
My question is, will I have trouble getting these two to run dual channel by buying them one at a time?
The $145.00 per stick is a bit much for me to handle, and I cannot easily drop $300 on a 2 stick kit all at once.
I intend to buy two of the same exact model ram sticks but at different times.
I have heard people claiming that different batches might not work with each other, etc.
But I have yet to run into an article where someone actually claimed to have run into this problem with their own systems, only others theorizing that it is indeed an issue.
Does anyone know conclusively that this is indeed a legitimate concern, can anyone back this claim?
The default ram configuration in my laptop is not enough to do my work (8gb), and I need to get something now and I can double it later on for the full dual channel effect.
I am just not ready to drop nearly $300 on two sticks of ram.
I don't know if I should wait to get the two pack, or if it is ok to buy one at a time.
For reference, my work involves IT, and I will end up having several virtual machines running on this computer at once, to test things, verify upgrades and backups, etc.
I needed a platform that had mobility and enough power to handle the tasks.
Right now my only limitation is this ram, and I am set on having dual channel a possibility with this system.
With what I do, these virtual machines will probably crash if not enough ram is available.
With some trickery, I can sort of get them to work, but it is easiest to just pick up something now.
I bought two memory modules, but I’m not sure about authenticity of these modules. They have different part numbers, different Micron logos and different countries of origin. Could you please help me to verify their authenticity? Also, I'm not sure that they will work well together in dual channel mode.
I built a few budget towers a year or so ago. I was putting Crucial Ballistix in some of them. They worked great for about a year. Now, they are all coming back to me with failed sticks.
**bleep** Crucial?
Oh yea, claiming them on this joke that Crucial calls "Lifetime Warranty" is also a treat. I'm done with Crucial. While I could go through the rigorous process of getting them RMA'd, I would rather just cut my losses and move on.
The stick I just pulled out has the ID# CL1118R.SN. I haven't even checked to see what speed it is, but I assume PC2 6400.
when i did the crucial system scan, i got the 'sorry' message. it's a compaq presario SR1807CL. any suggestions?
Sir,
I have purchased Crucial DDR4 2400 Mhz 240 Pin Laptop 8 GB RAM from Amazon. Please check the genuiness of the RAM. The photographs are attached. Thanks
I got a replacement RAM module from Amazon and now I ended up with possibly different modules.
Can you please help me understand what the differences are?
As shown in the pictures, the one on the left is the replacement I got and the one on the right is what needs to be replaced.
So, I will end up using the one on the left ( M16FB) with the middle one (C16FE).
Are they compatible? If they are, why the difference with respect to the product number and module layout?

Hi,
I currently have a single 8GB stick in my desktop computer, a CT102464BA160B.
I was looking to buy another 8GB stick but it looks like that specific model is no longer made. The current version is CT102464BD160B.
The difference in the 2 models seems to be the voltage. The CT102464BA160B runs at 1.5v and the CT102464BD160B runs at 1.35v.
Would the CT102464BD160B run with the CT102464BA160B or do I need to now buy 2 with the same voltage?
Thank you.
Dave.
Hello,

I want to upgrade my laptop to 16 Gb RAM.
The CrucialScan.exe gives me this information about compatible upgrades:
As you can the model of notebook detected wrong (G710 instead of Z710).
Is it safely to buy this kits recommended by CrucialScan?
Does the "100% compatibility" program (with money back) by Crucial working in this case?

I have a Dell CPX 8930 which came with 16GB of RAM = 2x8 DDR4-2666(1333MHZ) Part No. 8ATF1G64AZ-2G6H1
I then bought a 16GB kit = 2x8 DDR4-3000, which according to the Crucial checker should be compatible.
I knew the frquency speed would be limited by a) the motherboard and b) the existing RAM so I expected the new RAM to match the existing 1333MHz bandwith. However CPU-Z tells me the max wandwith is only 1200MHz. Am I missing something?
Also I was not able to get the serial numbers using CPU-Z or Get-WmiObject with Powershell so I am wondering if the RAM is counterfeit!
Thanks in advance!
In case my previous reply doesn't show up because the topic was "solved". I too purchaed Crucial memory sticks on eBay and was guaranteed they were authentic, but the labels I have are almost identical to @turbonik. Again, label looks authentic, but chips appear to be SEC/Samsung, but I can't find information on the chip number anywhere. Are these any more legit, or another counterfeit?
Thank-you for your help!

I recently purchased Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 to upgrade my Toshiba S50-A-I2010's memory. I ran the Crucial Advisor tool and found a module to be compatible with my laptop. The part number is CT102464BF160B (CL 11, 1.35V).
My laptop already has a 4GB PC3L-12800S Hynix module installed. It previously ran at the JEDEC #7 timing (11,11,11) tRAS 28, tRC 39. The laptop is currently working fine with both the modules module but I get different info for the Crucial module in CPU-Z.
For the Crucial module, it shows as PC3-14200 (889 MHz) and JEDEC #7 timing as (11, 11, 11) tRAS 29, tRC 40. Will this result in any memory incompatibility and pose issues to my laptop?
I had attached the images from CPU-Z.
Hi,
CrucialScan utility gave me several possible options of making upgrade for my notebook memory.
The problem is that there is no option to buy memory right on Crucial site/shop at my country (Russian Federation). I have to find memory modules by myself at sites of Crucial partners or another 3rd party e-shops.
I need help to identify memory at right way because there is no model number (or some another unique identifier used by shops) for Crucial memory modules.
The CrucialScan gave me this recommendations:
1. Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM

Hi,
I'd like to upgrade my Lenovo G500 (LA-9631P) laptop by increasing size of RAM from a single 4GB stick to pair of 8G (total 16Gb working in dual mode). I was looking for 16Gb-Kit sticks. I found them on eBuy. But the compatibility of these modules is questionable. I want to be confident with my purchase. Would the pair of CT102464BF150B.M16FED works properly as pair of CT102464BF160B on 1600MHz with 5-5-5-15 timings in DUAL channel mode? And what should I find out from the seller to secure my purchase?
PS: Some pictures of item...
Thank you in advance
Alessio
Hello,
I wanted to upgrade my laptop from 8 GB RAM (2*4 GB) to 16 GB RAM (2*8 GB). My computer supports max. 16GB RAM. My computer datils befor the upgrade (I can add adittional inforamtion if needed):
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 3230M @ 2.60GHz 62 °C, Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard: LENOVO G700 (U3E1)
I bought 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600 SODIMM 1.35 V (CT102454BF1505.M16FED) cruical units.
When replacing them I get only a black screen, no windows or BIOS or anything. I tried all the variations and found out, that if I use one old 4GB unit and one new 8 GB unit it works and I get 12GB ram, details:
MemoryType: DDR3
Size: 12288 MBytes
Channels # Dual
DRAM Frequency: 798.7 MHz
CAS# Latency (CL) 11 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 11 clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 11 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) 28 clocks
Command Rate (CR) 1T
I looke up everything, tried updating BIOS, cheked the settings and now in the dark, I can't fine the solution. A weird thing that occured is before it said (2*4GB):
Total memory slots 2
Used memory slots 2
Now it says (4GB+8GB) - I have only 2 memory slots:
Total memory slots 4
Used memory slots 2
Free memory slots 2
Does anyone have an Idea wha's going on?
Hi
I recently bought 4*4GB DDR3 SODIMM modules on eBay. They have Crucial stickers, but I’m not sure if these are genuine because they all have the exact same sticker and CPU-Z doesn't show the manufacture date of any module. Would love to know if they are genuine or not. Thanks a lot!
